		Ride the Rideau 2011: Thank You! s Ride The Rideau 2011 set an ambitious target for its second annual event. It aimed for 600 riders (up from 315 riders last year) and saw 715 riders participate. It aimed for 68 teams (up from 34 teams last year) and saw 71 teams participate. It aimed to raise $1,800,000 (up from $941,000 last year) and raised $1,829,544! The Brick Peddlers Ride Again! In addition, Merkley Supply’s team, “The Brick Peddlers”, raised more than $173,000! We are extremely proud of this accomplishment. Merkley Supply also wants to send out a huge thank you to the entire team at The Ottawa Hospital Foundation for their outstanding work at making this an amazing and overwhelming success! And of course, we’d also like to thank the 280 volunteers for giving up their time on such a magnificent day. Join us Next Year! The 3rd Annual “Ride The Rideau” event takes place on September 8th, 2012. Will you be there to join us? Please spread the word on how great the experience was and what a great difference the $1,829,544 will make in the ongoing research right here at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute for a cure for cancer. The Hospice at May Court will hold its 9th annual Homes for the Holidays tour on November 4, 5 & 6, 2011. This charity event supports end-of-life care programs offered at The Hospice at May Court. Ticket holders will be able to tour six distinguished homes in Ottawa that have been professionally decorated for the holidays.
